I wrote this blog entry in August 2012. Now it’s November and I’ve finally posted it. I don’t mean to whine or complain (though it may sound like it) but I want to share a piece of my process of self-reflection and discovery.
Over the spring and summer months of 2012 I asked myself the question, “What am I doing here?” It seems like I’m existing peacefully, uneventfully, pointlessly. Have I done all that I came here to do? It doesn’t feel like it but I’m not sure what “it” is I’m supposed to be doing. Then, in mid-July this message arrived in my inbox:
“Your current purpose is to focus upon peace within your being and mind. This will allow for peace to manifest more fully as an energy of support and stability for all at this time of ascension . . . With change so evident upon the Earth . . . peace is needed as a support and strength. If you are able to adopt a mind-set that expresses and experiences the vibration of peace then you will energize and encourage others to let go of doubt, fear and worry, embracing love and truth on the Earth . . . When you adopt a greater sense of peace within your mind this will imprint upon the minds of others. We are all one united consciousness after all, whether we exist near or far away, on the Earth or on the inner planes . . .”
This was part of a truly helpful message and guided meditation entitled Purpose of Peace by Lord Melchizedek, channeled by Natalie Glasson on July 15, 2012. You can read the full message here: http://wakeupworks.jottit.com/natalie%27s_page_2012. It went on to say:
“We are all being asked by the Creator to release the habits of fear, worry and doubt replacing them with an inner knowing, love and empowerment. The magnification process in December 2012 allows for us to enhance and amplify all loving qualities of the Creator that exist within our beings. The magnification process is an experience of empowerment, but in order to truly experience empowerment there is a need to accept yourself and let go of unneeded energies that no longer serve you.”
So I read this and think, “This is my present mission . . . to release unneeded energies of fear, worry and doubt and replace them with an inner knowing, love and empowerment.”
Then I realized that my personality aspects and my ego are afraid to allow the Divine Expression that I am to be. To fully accept the truth of who I AM. To burn through the falseness, resistance, and worry about what people will think if I live and express myself from that place . . . worry that my ego will take advantage . . . worry that I’ll “be too big for my britches”. . . so I hold myself back. I’m sobbing as I write this. I don’t allow my Goddess-self, my Amma-self, my Divine Mother-self, my Creator-self, my Radiant-self, my Joyous-self to be visibly present at all times, especially when there's no audience, when there should be no worries at all about being seen. What’s that about?
At another place in the message it said:
“With peace and connection with the Creator you can follow your inner guidance, being of service in all areas of your life and the lives of others. Guidance is always present within you and channels through you from the Creator; there is simply a need to create a space for your intuition to flow in all circumstances. You will then be given the most divine and sacred tools to assist and be of service in all situations whether you are directly involved or not.”
I have all the toys and tools but don’t use them. With all the available time and opportunity I have, I don’t ever use my skills to just entertain myself even though that’s the inner guidance I receive. Despite all the musical instruments and art and writing supplies I have, I don’t use them when I’m alone. And I’m alone a lot. I just sit at the computer and do work for others – some of which is necessary because it produces income – some of it is just being helpful. I never sit outside in my beautiful back yard. I have so many things around me that are beautiful and meaningful to me yet I do nothing but sit at the computer or sit in front of the television. Is that what they mean by having a “screen addiction”? Hi, I’m Tonia and I’m a screen addict.
If I imagine that the reason I’m in such a holding pattern is because I am being a pillar of light and peace on the planet, and it causes me to be as still as possible, as much as possible every day, then it makes it easier to accept this overwhelming sense of pointless nothingness with work and brief segments of watching TV or playing computer card games.
But never am I doing anything that feels creatively satisfying unless I’m doing it for someone else’s benefit. And if no one shows up to receive it then what’s the point of doing it? This is also why I never do anything just to entertain myself. I only do it if it is going to help some person, or project, or cause, or group, or audience of some kind, or is absolutely necessary to maintain my health, home or livelihood. When the receiver goes away then I’m left with no reason to do anything.
Sometimes I wish I had the compelling consciousness and passion of a visual artist who can’t live without painting or drawing or sculpting or engaging in some form of art making. I just don’t have that passion for anything. It only shows up when someone needs my help or I’m in performance beaming divine presence and healing through my offering. Since the receivers have been so few over the past 18 months, I’m changing my focus from music and sound healing to teaching improv and Playback. I find it enjoyable and meaningful but I don’t feel any passion about it. It’s just something I can do that if it helps people feel happier, more alive, more free, and more engaged in meaningful service to others then, in the process, I get to feel that my life has meaning.
The fact that I’m even writing this entry is remarkable since I’ve been hearing the inner encouragement to write my life’s stories for months now, yet never actually do it. What is the resistance to following my inner guidance when it benefits no one else but me? Enough already!
For now I’ll be satisfied with holding the state and energy of Peace. That’s a pretty important job and I’m happy to do it. Just wish I could know what impact it’s having. I guess that’s where trust comes in. Okay, let me say this differently . . . I know, love, and feel empowered to be a Pillar of Peace in the world! I know, love, and feel empowered to be joined with other known and unknown beings who are Pillars of Peace in the world! We are doing this “behind the scenes” work with knowledge, love and power to benefit humanity and the planet. And so it is!
As I began to prepare my federal tax return for 2011 I became crazed at the profoundly convoluted complexity of the forms and language and formulas the IRS has devised to figure out what we owe. I’m sharing this new tax chart with you because in the reality I’d like to live in, taxes are okay but this is the way we determine our fair share to support the federal government. The entire tax code as it currently exists gets burned at the stake and this new plan gets established. It’s so simple that even a child could file their own taxes. And while the IRS and accountants might lose most of their reason for being, I’m sure that they could turn their attention to enforcement to be sure everyone reports all their income. I’m sure there must be some institute or think tank or university somewhere that could figure out what the implications of my plan would have on the economy and the national income, budget and deficit.
The Tonia Tax Plan applies to individuals and organizations equally. It taxes everyone on an incremental sliding scale that gets bigger the more you make. It takes a truly fair percentage of gross income, but there are no deductions of any kind allowed, none, zip, nada, nyet. It does not tax anyone whose gross income is $20,000 or less. It even has a small percentage for traditionally non-tax paying organizations that have net revenue of $500,000 or more, orgs like colleges, universities, and yes, even churches and non-profits.
This system would require people to report all income from all sources and pay their percentage of tax on an individual basis only – no joint returns, no exemptions for spouses or number of kids, or being blind or old or anything else. But the percentage is so reasonable that it would be virtually painless and would leave a significant amount of money to pump back into the economy, pay for daily living, investments, savings, etc. But again, some organization or think tank would have to run the numbers to determine the impact.
I’m curious to know what you think about this and how you think it might work out in the long run. I would so love to say I earned ‘x’, my rate is ‘r’, my tax is ‘t’, done.
I uploaded the spreadsheet to Google docs and the 2nd tab has the concepts. I’m sure I probably missed something but you’ll get the gist. I’d love to hear and respond to various what if scenarios. Click to see spreadsheet: Tonia’s Tax Plan: 1% to 40% > $20k
Everything out there in the world is a reflection of what we think and believe. The reason we want everyone else to believe what we believe, or do what we say, or support our cause, or act like we act, or wear or eat what we wear and eat is because we think that their agreement validates us and our position and makes it believable and true. Or we think that they’ll be better people or have a better life if they agree with us. But I’m beginning to realize that I’m the one that will have the better life if I actually do the thing I’m trying to convince someone else to do.
We live in a consensus reality. That means that the reality only sticks together if we all agree with the same concepts like “duality exists” or “there’s nothing else but what we can experience with our 5 senses” or “we should believe outer authority figures rather than our inner knowing” or “I must eradicate, fight, condemn, force my will on, anything that does not conform to the reality I believe in” (that’s a good one) or “what they tell us on TV must be true”, you get the idea.
I notice that the more I let go of my belief in the reality defined by others the easier it is for me to actually experience what reality is for me. What I’m discovering is that it’s as if we’ve been living a mile down in the ocean and gradually the earth beneath us has been rising up so that now we’re only 10 feet from the surface. We’re still in the ocean water but now we’re so close to the surface of another distinct and different reality or realm or plane of existence that we begin to notice differences in our water world. It’s much brighter, gravity seems lighter, fewer and different species of water life. If we focus our attention just right we can poke our head into this other waterless reality for a while even though our bodies are still immersed in the water.
That’s what’s happening on Earth right now. It’s much easier to feel in ourselves and perceive in others truth and lies, foolishness and sincerity, fear and love, subtext and transparency, ego and spirit. It’s like we’re all finally waking up and realizing that all the hype is hype, not truth, so we now decide to rely on what feels right on the inside rather than what the media is trying to feed us. We notice that we actually can think for ourselves despite the barrage of opinions everywhere we turn. The truth about things (events, concepts, people, etc.) is being revealed so fast that all we have to do is wait a minute or a day and the thing we were so fired up about in one moment has completely changed or been resolved in the next. I’m sure examples of this are coming to mind for you.
I think about the upcoming presidential election. I don’t know about you, but I happen to know that it takes more than a couple of years to fix something that’s been messed up for decades. If we can’t fix our own lives in a couple of years why should we expect a president to fix the whole country in a couple of years?
What the point I’m trying to make? As December 21, 2012 gets closer I think we’ll be really noticing how easy it is to see the truth and common sense under the rhetoric and prestidigitation (sleight of hand; a show of skillful deceitful cleverness). The Mayan end of the world as we know it is really the end of believing that deceitful cleverness is truth. We’re beginning to realize that we can see behind the curtain of the great and mighty Wizard of Oz to what’s really going on. We’re finally beginning to understand that we’ve had those magic ruby slippers of clear sight and insight that will show us the truth in our possession all along. All we have to do now is put them on and walk in the beauty of trusting our innate knowing, No consensus needed.
The way I experience reality is changing for me. I’m noticing in both obvious and subtle ways that I’m able to remain an observer to all the things going on in the world. The world the media shows us and society perpetuates is a creation of the egoic mind, a mind that operates and remains in power based on fear and separation. I truly believe that we can change the way people operate in the world if we continue to create fields of consciousness that are based in love, compassion, truth, integrity, and creative power – more powerful, because of our numbers, than the current fields of fear-based consciousness.
The articles I’ve included in the August Newsletter speak to this and call us to shift our focus from the world of fear and separation to creating a consciousness of love and compassion. It doesn’t mean that we ignore the suffering in the world. But if we create the morphic field of love, compassion, truth, integrity, and creative power, the Hundredth Monkey Effect will kick in, then the people who perpetuate fear and suffering in order to feel powerful will find other ways to feel empowered that don’t involve starving, torturing, killing and imprisoning innocent others. The essence of the Hundredth Monkey Effect is this: when a certain critical number achieves an awareness, this new awareness may be communicated from mind to mind. There are more of us than the media will ever reveal that are living and practicing these Divine qualities. We just need to keep it up until the rest of the monkeys catch on and wake up!
We are told that this world is ours but we only allow ourselves to see our reflection in the things around us. Unless we are raised otherwise, or have a very strong sense of Divine Self, most of us build our ideas, character and behavior based on what we experience and see around us because that’s what our environment tells us is available to us. Yet if we are really honest, we’ve always had an inner dialogue going on. Sometimes that voice is the voice of our egoic mind, sometimes it’s the voice of our emotional body, and sometimes it’s the voice of our intuition that comes from our Divine Source.
Fear is another mechanism that has so many layers and rates of vibration that it’s almost impossible to do away with it unless the ego is willing to let go of the need to do, such as save others, or have enemies, or fix everything. I know this sounds like blasphemy but hear me out. Ego revels in the feelings fear generates because these feelings justify its existence. When fear is recognized it can be dissolved and replaced with love or wisdom or creative power. But that’s a choice the higher mind makes with the help of the Divine Spark.
Separation seems necessary for the Divine to have individualized experiences of Itself in Creation. Yet it is not truly separated from Itself. I/we have a physical body that has the most intricate and complex of systems. The organs and systems of the body seem like they are all separate (because the egoic mind has separated and labeled them). Yet I experience myself as something separate from the body when I think objectively about the various systems and organs that comprise it. Each system - integumentary (hair, skin, nails, etc.) , central and peripheral nervous systems, endocrine-glandular, cardiovascular, digestive, urinary, reproductive, immune, lymphatic, respiratory, skeletal, muscular - works individually and together to produce a particular outcome that sustains the vehicle that houses the Spark of the Divine. Within each discrete body system are individual components or body parts (glands, blood, brain, bones, skin, etc.) that do their jobs to assist the function of their particular system. Within each individual component are individual cells and functions that do their jobs to assist the function of the component. Now imagine that each of us is a cell in the body of the Divine. How does that change your view of reality?
When one of the individual components fails to work, other components work overtime to compensate for it until it has been repaired. The problem is that the Spark of the Divine is housed in a body of flesh that also has an egoic self that doesn’t exist and isn’t necessary when the Divine consciousness is not expressing through that body.
Allow yourself to try on the reality that the individualized expression and person that you are is actually the Divine Source in a physical body experiencing life on Earth as you. Imagine that the only way it can experience itself is to become “the other” and hide its true identity within the veils of forgetfulness, allowing the influence of its Divine Nature to seep through invisibly into daily living.
This invisibility coupled with the law of free will sets up the conditions for the all knowing, ever present Divine to have a limitless variety of surprise experiences; if the ego has free will then choices may be made that the Divine didn’t anticipate.
Now, the ego’s job is to protect and ensure the survival of the physical vehicle that has been prepared for the Divine Spark which makes the vehicle come alive. Since the ego believes it has to protect itself, it creates and encourages behaviors that ensure that pain won’t be experienced again, that choices will be made based on past experiences rather than current facts, that situations and people will be judged based on the ego’s perspective, and that people regard this individual as important to them or the world – in a positive way, in a notorious way, in a dangerous way, in an influential way, etc. The ego does this by only relying on what it is seeing, hearing, and experiencing outside of itself. These outside authorities define who the ego self is and is not. As long as the ego believes that it is important in the eyes of the people around him or her, then the ego has accomplished its job. When the ego doesn’t feel that it has any importance then it can generate anger, depression, self-pity, acting-out, aloofness, withdrawal and other kinds of implosive or explosive behaviors, all of which are designed to get attention.
But what is this attention that the ego seeks? And here is the fun part of the equation.
The ego has a very limited repertoire to work with. As a result it keeps doing the same things and behaving in the same ways, over and over again. It changes the outer appearance so the activity may look different but the foundational drive remains the same, thus the result remains the same.
Eventually the ego begins to exert itself in ways that make it impossible for the Divine Nature to express itself through the vehicle at all unless . . . the physical, emotional, and/or mental pain becomes so great that the ego gives up control, at least for the moment, and states an intention that it wants the pain to stop. It is then that the Divine is able to be more fully present to guide our experience into harmony with its Divine Nature and we are then able to know and feel the Grace, Acceptance, Love and other qualities that the ego has sought but has been unable to achieve.
There is only One Divine Consciousness experiencing itself through countless forms of individualized expression in the universe (and there’s more than one universe but we won’t go into that right now). Then you’ll realize – real eyes – that the essence of this expression is you.
For those of you who may not be familiar with my use of Independence Dayhere’s how it goes: Since 1997 I have used the collective energy of Independence Day as a point of focus and support 1) to declare my independence or freedom from an environment, situation, person or personal habit that is no longer healthy in my life and/or 2) to be free to do, be, or have something I've been desiring. The declarations, which I write down, date and post on my fridge or place on my altar (depending on what it is), are especially effective when I choose to be free – independent - from something I feel is holding me back such as an internal pattern, behavioral habit, assumption, belief, or outer circumstance which no longer serves my personal or spiritual growth, wellbeing, and/or effectiveness in relationships and service to others.
Go for it! Take some time to follow these simple steps: 1) Write down whatever it is that you are ready to change or let go, and be clear and specific. 2) Write down the new vision - the ways you want to be living that will replace the things you are letting go. 3) Make the intention that the millions of people who are celebrating Independence Day are directing and adding their positive, celebratory energy to the success of your personal declarations of independence and freedom. 4) Imagine, see and feel all of the parades, celebrations, parties and fireworks are happening just to support and celebrate you!
Now the fun and point of the whole thing is this: Take a few moments to think about the magnitude of what’s happening in the United States with respect to the collective joyful mood and happy activities of the many millions of people across the country around and on Independence Day. TAKE IT IN DEEPLY, really GROK it. Now imagine, feel, and KNOW that all of these gatherings, celebrations and fireworks are specifically and only for YOU and your Declaration of Independence! Now ride this wave of The Celebration of You by imagining and allowing yourself to feel the encouragement and support in your personal decision to be effortlessly independent and successful in whatever you have chosen and declared. In each case that I have been very specific, I have been successful. When I have not been specific, I still have the pleasure of imagining that all the parades, cookouts, gatherings, celebrations and fireworks are being done just for me because of who I am and what I've accomplished in the past year that deserves celebrating.
This year I received inner guidance to view the word as In-Dependence, to depend on one’s Inner Guidance and I AM Presence for support and nurturance. When I allow myself to be dependent on my Inner Divine, it sometimes causes a ruckus with my ego or personality aspects. I may experience subtle but noticeable bouts of rebellion in the form of engaging in distractions like playing computer card games or watching TV for extended periods of time. A little break is fine, but when two hours goes by and I realize that I’m avoiding meaningful activity or quiet meditation I recognize that some part of me is in rebellion. The unfortunate part is that instead of taking that same distraction time and using it to explore what’s really going on in me, I just zone out in front of the screen.
So, this In-Dependence Day I declare that I will follow my Inner Guidance especially when it guides me to do something that generates an “ignore it” response from some part of my personality or ego. I declare that I will use any distraction time to explore what the distraction is really about. I declare that I will nurture those inner parts of me that feel ignored or abandoned and bring them into a loving field of attention and care.
As Nature would have it, we had lessons in the unexpected in the form of tornado strikes in Massachusetts on June 1, 2011. I believe that there was not one person in the state who did not become aware of the weather situation unless they were in complete isolation all day with no radio, tv, computer or handheld device. For example, I mentioned the tornado warnings to the bank clerk thinking she may not have heard anything and she said she knew. This event showed me about the effectiveness of our public communication systems and people talking to each other. It also gave me an opportunity to practice staying centered and fearless in a palpable, emotional energy field of mounting fear and panic.
I also believe that to the degree that one can keep the mind alert and the emotional body centered without fear in the midst of extreme weather or other violent conditions one can intuit just what to do in each moment to remain safe and protected. During the height of the severe weather warnings telling us to “stay inside”, I went out. I got quiet and asked if it was safe. My answer was yes. Nothing happened until a couple of hours later when I was inside meditating with my group at The Black Indian Inn and listening to Red Eagle’s wisdom teachings. Then the lightening storm passed through in full regalia. Because I was in Boston we were not in the tornado path but we did experience severe rain and lightning storms that evening. The lightning strikes were so loud and some were so close that I could feel the sound vibration in my body. The volume of some of the cracks was so loud that my body involuntarily jumped when it hit. By the time I headed back home, the storm had stopped.
The power of this event and the strong winds all the following day were thrilling, energizing and invigorating to me. I also learned that my inner guidance can be completely trusted to care for my safety and well being. Fear is the ego's survival mechanism. When we learn to live outside of the ego's dictates and manipulations - well meaning as they may appear to be - magic happens! How are you responding to Earth changes?
[This was first published as my December 2010 Newsletter Message.]
I've moved from hibernation-withdrawal mode to being more aware of my usual state of mental silence and emotional stillness most of the time.
As I described this state to a friend, my spirit explained the following to him which allowed my human self to hear it too :-) "My life now allows me to be in a state of silence, peace and stillness and I'm holding that state on behalf of those who can't do it for themselves because of the demands and responsibilities of their daily life. I hold this quiet space for you to access it more easily when you take the time to slow down and get quiet."
Later, as I contemplated this statement, I was shown that this is how Oneness works. If all at once, everyone chose to do exactly what is in his or her heart to do, do and be all the things we yearn for . . . one's life would immediately flow together in a state of peace, joy, love, satisfaction, etc. because we would all be in the flow together providing all that we need and receiving all that we desire. "If only" would not exist anymore because we would be doing it - being it - all the time, constantly flowing with perfect synchronicity in and out of the circumstances and connections with others that mutually serve each other's deepest heart desires. Because we haven't made this choice 'all at once' it seems difficult if not impossible to do what is in our heart to do.
Then, as I contemplated the stunning "Blue Daisy" fractal below (creator unknown), I gained a greater insight about the concept of Oneness.
Imagine that the central point of Light is God/Allah/Source of All That Is-Was-Ever Will Be/The Divine. From it radiates expressions - out-breaths and in-breaths - of individual manifestations of universes, worlds, and realities - extending outward in infinite waves and iterations of Light. . . manifestations that have their own existence, direction, size and distance from the Central Source. This distance allows for more diverse experiences in God's infinity yet each point of light, and the darkness surrounding it, remains an expression of Original Source. With that in mind, here's an idea about Oneness . . . Because it vibrates so slowly, the 3-D world we were born into maintains the illusion that we are separate. As we transition to the faster 5th dimensional frequencies (through events like the 01-01-11 Day of Oneness and other practices), we can experience the state called Oneness more easily while still living our individual life. Cool Huh! And the Handel's Messiah - Hallelujah Chorus Flash Mob video (click here to view) is a perfect example of what this state called Oneness feels like when we're in it - and notice how many people have watched it!
May your Holy-days be filled with inner peace, gratitude, joy and love and remember to give yourself to others in ways that nurture your spirit.
I've often thought that The Second Coming of Christ was not about Jesus physically returningto Earth but the Christed "God" Consciousness he embodied and demonstrated being expressed through each of us as individual expressions of God.The whole point is for us to BE it NOW not expect and wait for someone else to BE it.Then I got this in my email box and decided to share it with you.
"Everyone is "the Christ." In every person there lives the magnificent being I made, the person whose identity is My living heart. The person who is you looking through other eyes. The beautiful being who deserves every respect, total excitement at the fact of their existence and the welcome as a royal life complete with the commitment of everyone around them to honor and serve them well. This is your "going to church." It is the holy experience of looking into another's eyes and seeing only the pure, magnificent living Christ of God.
"All of you are in the position with each other to simply follow along as the great Love I Am is revealed and displayed in millions of eyes and hearts, all seeing the Christ of God. This is how I want you to love each other because this is how it is. And every time you see someone in his/her truth as Christ, you awaken it in them. As you embrace that person, you embrace beloved Jesus. You also embrace yourself."
"When you live through your heart only, your magnetic heart draws to you every reflection of My peace and beauty and plenty. You live in paradise, a paradise of wonder, a world of pure beauty in which even the wind is delivering the freedom, the joy, the beauty, the ecstasy I Am.
"Your heart, which is Mine, the heart of All I Am, will feel deepest gratitude for this gift that is ours, given continually. The center of My life is you and I Am the center of yours. This is the mystery and the grace of Creation."
The heavy curtains that kept out the light of understanding have been thrown back revealing the brilliant light of the Sun. We haven’t seen the Sun this brightly before so we squint our eyes and find it’s a bit painful at first. And some will turn their backs and won’t allow themselves to see this light at all. Some will withdraw from the brightness, and want to step back into the safe but painful dark places we know. But most of us will step out into the light to explore. To discover what life can be like without the past holding us down, keeping us back, or threatening our survival if we express ourselves fully.
What shall we do now? We have little or no information or skills for living in the sunshine of the Source of All There Is.Our former ways of life had been acceptable for generations upon generations. Whole societies, industries and economies were created to support and maintain the illusions that our minds believed were true. Some movies were created to give us clues about the reality we were living in, but they got distorted too.
We learned well what is and is not acceptable to those who raised and taught us, and to the world around us. Many of us were denied the ability to discover and create our own life experiences and destinies in a way that was aligned and in integrity with our Spirit. We relied on what others told us. We believed what others said about us. But now the Sun is shining, melting the snow cover, revealing the beauty that we are.
As children, we rebelled, acquiesced, manipulated others, went into hiding, shut down our senses, withdrew, wrapped thick impenetrable armor around our hearts, and created various personalities to protect our true nature and identity from being maimed or exploited again. Some of us agreed to stay in protective custody. Some of us joined a gang of like-minded renegades who helped us feel safe, wanted and accepted in some tiny, distorted way. Some of us came to believe that we were powerless prisoners and slaves to convention and prevailing culture and so we adapted to that belief.
During our long time of societal and familial servitude and incarceration, some of us quietly went within to imagine what life would be like if we were free. Some of us wanted to discover and get clear about why we were in so much pain. Didn’t those in authority do their best to make things comfortable enough for us to survive? They convinced us that they had all the answers so we came to believe that all the answers were ‘out there’ somewhere. Those in authority set the rules about ‘reality’ and all we had to do was follow them. They would keep us alive. Just barely. Just enough to breathe but not enough to prosper. We believed this because this is what we saw or what were taught in order to survive out there. Yet, now that we have been released into the light, we are expected to be our own responsible authority, our own sovereign being who knows what to do and how to do it while still living in a complex made-up world. Now that the light is penetrating our consciousness and mind we are expected to already know how and when to do what’s right for ourselves and others, for the children, the animals, the planet.
So, how and where do we begin this new life of freedom?
I’ve come to understand that freedom is a state of mind that comes through trust in the inner guidance that is always there. It is difficult to be free in a culture that believes that money is the means to attain freedom. For example, a prevailing belief is that if you can buy whatever you want, whenever you want it, then that means you’re free. But I discovered that there’s more to it than that. It’s difficult to buck the system, a system that is kept in place by the beliefs of the majority of the masses who are still sleeping, or feigning sleep.
So how to feel inner freedom? The first thing we have to do is find out what is most important to us – things like having a peaceful mind, treating each other with respect, really listening to each other, being heard and accepted by others, saying what is true for us without holding back, showing tender mercies, freely expressing our creativity and intelligence, feeling joy and wonder again, and giving others and ourselves room to make mistakes and be who we are in any given moment.
Then we have to remember that emotional pain, shame, blame, denial, fear, avoidance, rationalizations, and the inability or unwillingness to truly see all of who you are and what you do, are atrocities - toward self and others - that blind the eyes, make the ears go deaf, numb the senses, manifest diseases, and sometimes terminate physical life, literally and figuratively.
Next we have to decide, we have to choose, we have to commit to Wake Up! We must allow ourselves to remember that who we truly are is a spark of the Light that is the Source of All There Is, in human embodiment. In order to get the most benefit from this Light that we are, we have to decide that we are going to get the most benefit from this Light. We have to choose to stay ever vigilant to the times when our loyalty to the formerly enslaved or incarcerated sleeping self and ego is operating. We have to commit to the practice of stopping the thought patterns and behaviors we don’t want and engaging in the thought patterns and behaviors we do want – those ones that reflect the qualities we wish everyone else would have or show toward us.
Yes, it is easier said than done. But we all have the ability and the strength to change ourselves when we really want to. And there are plenty of trained and experienced people available to help us in that process.
There are many of our fellow humans who are so immersed in the illusion that they simply can’t see – or don’t want to see - that they are operating from a broken, outmoded program. Most of our programs were inserted when we were children. However, as you Wake Up! if you find that you become annoyed or angry about someone’s behavior or way of being, you can trust that their behavior or way of being is something that you do too – either to others or to yourself.
I can hear the denials and ‘no sirs’ rising to the surface but keep in mind that your version may not look like their version. Let’s say you become triggered with anger or annoyance or hurt because you found out that someone you work with has said something nice about you to your face and something negative about you behind your back. If this hypocritical or “two-faced” behavior wasn’t in you too, you wouldn’t be so strongly triggered when someone else engages in it. Now you may not be doing it exactly the way they do it but you may be doing that behavior internally, to yourself – one face for the public and one face at home; or one face for your family members and one face for your best friend; or one face when you’re trying to attract or impress someone and one face when you’re not. In this example you are doing the same thing that the person at your job is doing but you can’t see how it operates in you, you can only see how it operates in others. And your Spiritual Compass, your innate sense of integrity, sets off an alarm to let you know that this is something that needs fixing inside of you. Get the idea, the picture, the drift, the message?
Like a lightening flash, the mind activates its previously programmed content as thoughts and talk inside the head. So the internal decisions, choices and commitments we make about how we want to live life in each moment have to be made and practiced consciously in each moment, whenever the opportunities arise. It is this practice that will reprogram the mind with new responses.
The mental or emotional objections, negations or denials that inevitably come up to interfere with our Wake Up! process must be stopped in the moment, dismissed with love, and replaced with the point of view or positive behavior or thought process you want to experience. Yes, it is easier said than done, but it is possible to do if we decide, choose and commit to the practice. So when you find yourself in a stream of thoughts or words of protest or poor me or indignation or worry or other negative do-loop, just stop it, dismiss it with love and replace it with what you wish it to be. Soon the new way of seeing the world and yourself will become your daily way of being.
If you have chosen to leave your life of pain and Wake Up! it will be the annoying people who will show you what you need to work on.That’s what your Light will do for you to help you find your True Self, your True Identity, your True Power as a Divine Being.
"Light is the substance that holds and binds vibrations, intentions and consciousness . . . Ascension is a natural absorption of love and shedding of false impressions." -- Ascended Master So Ma
I have been on the Ascension Path since 1970. Back then, the work I was doing to reclaim my true self was difficult, scary and downright crazy-making, but I soon learned that these feelings were being generated by my ego. Once I understood that my ego didn't want to lose control I gave it a new job to do, one that allowed it to be present without interfering with what I was trying to do to heal myself, manage my fears, and move out of my 'victim-poor me' mind set and all that that entailed.
I've found a few writers that tell the story in a way I resonate and agree with and I'd like you to read their work so you can understand the process, and how I think about it too. You may discover that you've been on this path right along but didn't call it Ascension Path. There's a particularly important and helpful article written by Jelaila Starr that I highly recommend you read. It's an honest account about the down and dirty work of Ascension and it's a most necessary read if you're serious about dealing with and healing your shadow, lower chakras and buried/denied/abandoned aspects of yourself. It's called "Let's Get Real About Ascension" and you can find it here: http://wakeupworks.jottit.com/jelaila%27s_page
There's another one that gives a good explanation of what an Ascended Master is. It makes reference to "shedding false impressions" and Jelaila's article (and my personal experience) is about the work involved in shedding those false impressions.
Excerpt from Ascension Light Activation Part 1 by Ascended Master So Ma, channeled through Natalie Glasson July 12, 2010: "To ascend is to gain a certain level of light, love and consciousness. It is a state of existence and being that is maintained eternally and that is focused upon all that is the Creator. It may seem impossible to exist as and with the Creator on the Earth when negativity is so present within the atmosphere of the Earth and minds of humanity, but many have achieved this before your time on the Earth. I assure you whole heartedly that you will also obtain this pure and loving state of existence on the Earth for yourself and to be of example to others. I can say this with true faith as you have already achieved this sacred state, you just have to remind yourself of it and reprogram yourself to focus upon this sacred aspect of your being.
"When souls begin to maintain a focus upon the Creator, and realize themselves as the Creator, then they may adopt the label or title Ascended Master. This is essentially a label on the inner planes. It holds far less weight than it does in the minds of light workers and humanity on the Earth. We see our ascension as a natural absorption of love and shedding of false impressions. It is simply a label, akin to recognition of a level of growth obtained.
"To be an Ascended Master doesn’t mean that you have fabulous rights and magical powers. With the realization that it is simply a state of existence, we begin to let go of self importance and are able to move closer to the heart of the Creator. To become an Ascended Master isn’t the ultimate goal; it is a natural part of your progression and schooling on the Earth and the inner planes. With this realization, the ego is able to step back and you are able to move forward with greater ease to embody your Ascended Master Self."
